Katie Coughlin
Katie Coughlin received a B.Sc. in physics from the University of Toronto, and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in physics from Harvard University. Her research topics covered stability theory, chaos, and turbulence in fluid dynamics, as well as numerical analysis and computational modeling. After a post-doc in Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley, she spent several years teaching and doing research in Mathematics and Physics at the University of Montreal in Canada. She has recently made a career change, and joined the Energy Efficiency Standards Group in the fall of 2000. Her work now focuses on data analysis and modeling in a variety of contexts related to energy efficiency. Current projects include wholesale and retail electricity prices and commercial HVAC.
